1. Let the no. be x,

5 (x + 5) = 5

5x + 25 = 5

5x = 5 - 25

5x = -20

x = -20/ 5

= -4

2. Let the age of younger brother be x,

age of older brother = x + 6

so, x + (x+ 6) = 26

2x + 6 = 26

2x = 20 - 6 = 20

x = 20/2 = 10

therefore, age of younger brother = 10 and elder brother = 16

3. Let the no. be x,

3x/2 = 1/10

3x = 2/10

x = 2/10 × 1/3

= 2/30 = 1/15
