The complete question is,

Work out the area of a circle. Take (pie) as 3.142 and give your answer to 2 decimal places. the diameter is 9 m.

Given,

Diameter of the circle = d = 9 m

pie = 3.142

Area of circle = πr²

as we know that, radius is half the diameter, so we have, r = d/2

Area of circle = π (d/2)²

= 3.142 × (9 / 2)²

= 3.142 × 81 / 4

= 63.62 m²

Therefore, the area of the circle is 63.62 m²
