Proper Question
- The area of the right angled triangle is 54 cm. If one of its legs is 12 cm long, find its longest side.
★Longest side = 15 cm
Given
- area=54cm^2
- One of the side = 12cm
Now
Let us consider base as 12cm and height as x
Now
- Area = 1/2 *b*h
- 54=1/2*12*h
- 54=6*h
- h =54/6
- h=9
Now longest side of a triangle is always the hypotenuse
Finding Hypotenuse by pythagoros
- a^2 +b^2 =c^2
- 12^2 +9^2 =c^2
- 225=c^2
Thus, c i.e longest side = 15 cm
