Length between two coordinates are given by the formula

 \sqrt{ {(y2 - y1)}^{2}  + ( {x2 - x1)}^{2} }

Now, A(-1,6) and B(5,3)

Therefore the length of AB

 =  \sqrt{ {(3 -  - 1)}^{2} +  {(5 - 6)}^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {4}^{2} + ( - 1) ^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{16 + 1} \\  =  \sqrt{17}  \\  = 4.12 \: units

Therefore, the length of AB= 4.12 units
