Step-by-step explanation:

WORKER A 1 DAY WORK =1/18

WORKER B 1 DAY WORK =1/27

TOGETHER 1 DAY WORK =1/18+1/27

=3+2/54

TOGETHER CAN COMPLETE THE WORK IN 54/5 DAYS

Solution:

Time taken by Worker A to work alone = 18 days

Time taken by Worker B to work alone = 27 days

Time taken by both Worker A and Worker B together = x days [Let]

Rate of work done by Worker A to do work in 1 day = 1/18 work/day

Rate of work done by Worker B to do work in 1 day = 1/27 work/day

Rate of work done by both to do work in 1 day = 1/x work/day

Worker A and Worker B together working rate = Working rate of Worker A + Working rate of Worker B

Now, we want to calculate working rate of both Worker A and Worker B

So,

1/x = 1/18 + 1/27

1/x = (3+2)/54

1/x = 5/54

x = 54/5

x = 10.8 days or 10 days (0.8 * 24) 19.2 hours or 10 days 19 hours (0.2 * 60) 12 mins

Time taken by both Worker A to Worker B to finish the work is 10.8 days or 10 days 19.2 hours or 10 days 19 hours 12 minutes.
