A calorimeter is an instrument used in calorimetry for measuring the amount of heat released or absorbed in chemical or physical reactions.

The diff btw temperature together with in specific heat and mass of the solution allows u to work oit how much heat the reaction uses .

For example:if u place a hot piece of copper in a cool amount of water with in a calorimeter heat will flow from the copper to the water.
