Answer:

one days work of each of A,B and C is

1/24 =5/120 ,1/30=4/120 and 1/40=3/120 respectively

so that their one days work when all three work together is

(5/120)+(4/120)+(3/120)=12/120 =1/10 th part of the whole work

so they all together can complete the work in 120/12 =10 days

C left 4 days before means 4 x 1/10 = 4/10 part of work is left

A and B s one days work is 5/120 + 4/120 =9/120 th part

so they can complete whole the work in 120/9 days

and they can complete 4/10 th part of work in

4/10 x120/9 =16/3 days or 5+ (1/3) days

total work will be completed in 6+ 5+(1/3)=11+(1/3) days
