Answer:

1) Selling price of the bed sheet = Rs. 640

Profit = 28%

Now, let the CP =Rs. x

Therefore, according to the problem x+28% of x = 640

or, x+ 28x/100=640

or, 128x/100=640

or, x = 640×100/128

= 500

... The shopkeeper bought the bedsheet for Rs. 500

2) Cost price of each packet = Rs. 8

Therefore, CP of 250 packets = Rs. (8×250) = Rs. 2000

Now, 70% of 250 packets = 175

Selling price of 175 packets at the rate of Rs. 11 per packet = Rs. (175×11) = Rs. 1925

Selling price of the remaining (250-175)=75 packets at the rate of Rs. 29 per packet = Rs. (75×29) = Rs. 2175

Therfore, total SP = Rs. (1925+2175) = Rs.4100

Therefore, profit = Rs. (4100-2000) = Rs. 2100

Therefore, profit percentage = 105

... Rajan gained 105%

3) Let the cost price of one jeans be Rs. x

If Ankit gains by 10% after selling a jeans for Rs. 990, then the cost price will be

x+10%of x=990

or, 110x/100 = 990

or, x = 900

Again, if Ankit lose by 10% after selling a jeans for Rs. 990, then the cost price will be x-10% of x = 990

or, 90x/100 = 990

or, 1100

Therefore, the total CP of both the jeans = Rs. (900+1100) = Rs. 2000

Total SP of both the jeans = Rs. (990×2)

= Rs. 1980

Therefore, loss = Rs. (2000-1980)

= Rs. 20

Therefore, loss percentage = 1

... Ankit lost by 1% in the whole transaction.
