Answer:

{ \huge{ \underline{ \bf { \red{ Given}}}}}

In a right angle triangle,

Hypotenuse=17cm, one side = 8cm

Find :- Third side

Solution:-

{ \to{ \sf{From \: pythagores \: theorm}}}

{ \to{ \sf{ {hyp}^{2}  =  {opp}^{2} +  {adj}^{2}  }}}

{ \to{ \sf{ {17}^{2} =  {8}^{2}   +  {x}^{2} }}}

{ \to{ \sf{289 = 64 +  {x}^{2} }}}

{ \to{ \sf{ {x}^{2} = 289 - 64 }}}

{ \to{ \sf{ {x}^{2} = 225 }}}

{ \to{ \sf{x =  \sqrt{225} }}}

{ \to{ \sf{x = 15}}}

Therefore the length of third side is 15 cm
