Answer:

World Environment day is celebrated every year on June 5th . It was celebrated in 1973, for the first time, inspired by conference on Human Environment by United Nations. It is celebrated with a new theme every year to encourage awareness of environment and environmental problems. The celebrations are held in many ways like exhibitions, concerts, parades, competitions, campaigns etc.

World Environment Day

The main aim of World Environment day is to create awareness public about different environment issues and to protect our environment for better future. Many environmentalists, professors, scientists and politicians take active part in these celebrations and bring out new ideas to protect and save the environment. Various debates, speeches, art and paintings, rallies, quizzes are held as a part this campaigns. Many schools, colleges and offices also take part in this by participating in the competitions, tree planting, cleaning public places, recycling, global warming etc.

Dramas, skits and movies are presented in schools and colleges to make students aware of the environmental changes and how our environment is depleting and measures to protect it and save our planet earth.

It is an initiative to make public aware of Eco friendly products and to create an clean and green, pollution free environment for coming future generations. And to encourage public to be an active members of environmental friendly development of our earth. Every year these activities are held in different cities and countries. As this issue is to be solved globally and not by one country in specific. There are also International exhibitions held as a part of celebrations.

Although it is not a holiday, but almost every one takes part in these activities for a better tomorrow and for sustainable development. In 2018, World Environment Day was hosted by India and theme was “Beat Plastic”. It was a initiative to combat use of plastic, and encourage, public, industries and communities to reduce the production of plastic and dumping it into the oceans which damage the marine life and pollute the water. Many activities were conducted as apart of this campaign, like clean up drives near beaches and public areas. The campaign also focused on how we have become over reliant on use of plastic and disposable items. The government of India pledged to make the country plastic free by 2022.

Conclusion:-

The whole idea of World Environment Day is to create a natural and beautiful world free of pollution or any other scarcity of natural resources. One should always be conscious of their activities, and strive to keep our surroundings clean and healthy, protect the natural resources and use them in an efficient and careful manner.

Banning plastic, recycling, saving water, planting more tress, saving wildlife and animals are some of the steps which led us to better environment. Planet earth is a beautiful place but we human beings have destroyed it for our selfish needs which has led to pollution, scarcity of water, untidiness etc.

If we do not take proper steps to save the natural resources, everything will deplete one day and we will be left with nothing like water, pure and fresh air. It is our responsibility to save our mother nature and protect it from pollution and other hazards, which will lead us to a healthy future and a healthy life

Answer:

Our environment is one of the most important aspects to survive on this planet. Moreover, it is the only thing that can make life sustainable. Without it, we cannot survive even a single day. For instance, our skin will burn, the lungs will get ruptured, our blood pressure would rise.

Furthermore, we will not have food and water to survive. And this will also be possible because of the imbalance of heat and atmospheric pressure. Thus it is important that we should take care of the environment. Also, abandon all the exploitation that we are causing it.

We celebrate World Environment day on 5th June every year. People from more than 100 countries celebrate this day. Furthermore, the world environment day is run by the United Nations Environment Programme. Since the year 1973. Above all the main purpose of celebrating this day was to spread awareness. The awareness was about the conservation of our environment.

Moreover to also take various preventive measures to avert the effects of Global warming. Since we all know that Global warming is the root cause of the ruin of our environment. Therefore it is our duty to protect our environment. And stop all the exploitation that is destroying it. Because in the end, it is our basic need for our survival and our generations ahead.

On the world environment day, we all take a day off from our work. And join various campaigns to spread awareness about environment protection. Moreover, we all plant small saplings in a barren land so that it may grow and flourish in the land area after some years. Also, we take part in various processions to make people aware of this day. So that they may also take part in protecting our environment.

Furthermore, in schools, the teachers teach the students the methods to plant a tree. The school provides buses to take the students to the jungles. There they come to know about the different types of plants. And the types of vegetation in which they survive. Also, the students have to bring a sapling from their homes and plant them inside the ground. This helps them in getting practical knowledge. Further, it also creates an emotional attachment to the environment.
