Answer:

Agriculture is strongly influenced by weather and climate. While farmers are often flexible in dealing with weather and year-to-year variability, there is nevertheless a high degree of adaptation to the local climate in the form of established infrastructure, local farming practice, and individual experience. Climate change can therefore be expected to impact agriculture, potentially threatening established aspects of farming systems but also providing opportunities for improvements.

The synthesis document pulls together the response options identified by a preparatory expert and stakeholder consultation meetings and consultations, as identified in a number of technical documents. The Synthesis Document.

It reviews the current state of the knowledge regarding major challenges facing the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors, including the: vulnerabilities in the food system; impacts on food supply and demand; commodity prices; nutrition and food safety; and stability of the food supply system. The document also suggests ways to ensure food security in the immediate and longer terms.
