World Heritage Day is an annual event celebrated on 18 April every year. It aims to preserve the human heritage and recognize the efforts of all the relevant organizations in the field. In 1982, the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) announced, 18 April as the "World Heritage Day", approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983, with an aim to enhance awareness of the importance of cultural heritage of humankind, and redouble efforts to protect and conserve the human heritage.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the sixth time will mark the World Heritage Day through "Turathi Hay" (My Heritage is alive) forum, which will be organized on National Museum on 18 April 2016. It will involve many cultural meetings and forums that are targeting different topics in international and national heritage domain. It will be conducted by group of heritage specialists, experts, and consultants.

Saudi Arabia, had celebrated the World Heritage Day for the first time in 2013 by organizing a cultural event titled “Heritage of the Past and Present, organized by SCTH, represented by the National Urban Heritage Center, with the participation of Dar All Bloom University, Saudi Society of Real Estate Science and All Triathlon Foundation.
