Answer:

Shakespeare’s quote, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players,” can be tweaked as, “All the world’s a family and all the men and women its members,” to reflect the true spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, an aphorism from the Maha Upanishad. But we find that the world is increasingly becoming more conflicted, fragmented, tense and polarised.

Then how do we operationalise the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam? A spiritual approach could help.

Each individual is made up of matter and spirit. Matter refers to our physical body, including mind and intellect, whereas the spirit is an unseen and most subtle aspect of our personality.

Nonetheless, spirit is the driving force that brings our physical body to life.

According to the Bhagwad Gita, though the gross body ceases to exist when death occurs, the spirit never dies; it simply enters another body — irrespective of caste, creed, colour, community or nationality — giving birth to a new life, continuing the eternal cycle of birth and death. The Vedas reinforce the fact that “He who perceives all human beings within the Self and the Self in all human beings, loves everyone and does not harbour any feelings of animosity towards anyone”.
