Would eclipses still happen if light did not travel in straight lines? Justify your answer.

Because if light travelled in a curved path, shadows would not be formed on a specific planar surface. Shadows, and hence eclipses would take place in any irregularised surface, and eclipses would also not take place the way they do normally
