Would it be advisable to take antacids for longer period of time?

People having recurrent peptic ulcers have a chronic Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach’s inner lining, and need a course consisting of two antibiotics, a strong acid inhibitor and bismuth to eradicate the bacteria so prevent recurrences.
