It is easier to read something printed on a rough surface rather than a glossy surface because -

• We are able to read something printed on a surface when the light rays are irregularly reflected by that surface.

• Now,the amount of irregular reflection is greater in amount by the rough surface than the glossy surface.

That's why something which is printed on a rough surface is easier to read than the glossy surface.

(Although our eyes are very capable and there is no big visual differences experienced in both the cases of glossy or rough surface's print,if the print is printed clearly)

It is always easier to read anything written on a smooth or even surface rather than a rough surface.

Explanation:

  • A rough surface has many small or big abrasions for uneven surface that makes, it difficult for a person to read easily.
  • The abrasions that are present on the surface allows creation of illusion and sometimes what we see from one angle might look something different from other angle.
  • And hence two people seeing a thing that is written on rough surface might be different for both of them because of the effect of abrasions.
