Dear Diary

Sometimes some small gestures of kindness provide you with so much of satisfaction that you are overwhelmed with your own feelings. Today something similar happened with me when I was returning from my school. As soon as I got down from my school bus and was about to get into my car, a wounded school boy, in a semi conscious state, lying on the roadside caught my attention. He was hit by a passing vehicle while crossing the road.

Devoid of human feelings, the passers-by ignored him, but I could not restrain myself from helping him. Immediately, I put him in my car and took him to a nearby nursing home, where the doctor at once started his treatment. Taking the phone number from his school diary, I informed his parents who reached the nursing home immediately. Their eyes filled with tears, the way they thanked me for saving their son’s life, brought lump into my throat. Their numerous blessings are still echoing in my ears.
