Firstly, when she heard about Mrs. Loona Bimberton that she had flew with a pilot in an Airplane.
In those days flying in an Airplane was something great that lifted people above the social circle and Mrs. Loona Bimberton achieved a fame.
So obviously, Mrs Packletide got jealous of Mrs. Loona Bimberton.
Moreover, in the jealousy Mrs. Packletide wished to belittle Mrs. Loona Bimberton by hunting a tiger. Accordingly she arranged a platform for hunting the tiger by offering thousand rupees each person in the village who would help her and also took a paid companion with her.
