This is an interesting question.
Social media has become an important part of our lives in recent times, but we fail to see the way it has effected all of us adversely. If it were up to me and if I was given a choice I'd prefer to live without any social media platforms. Ironically, social media is what has isolated people more, true meaningful connections are now replaced with shallow texting, posts and comment culture. If we observe around us we'll notice that people are so addicted to the social media apps that most of them are on their phones even while sitting with other people.
social media may be used for instant gratification but it also forces us to keep up a fake social image. People compare their lives to the well organized posts and photos of other people and feel bad about themselves.
We may not realize it but we waste a lot of time on social media, teens are said to spend 9 hours each day while adults are no different.
So if I had my way I'd rather live without this menace and I believe we all would be happier without it.
