Hi friend,

Indicators are substances that change their color when they come in contact with acids or bases.
ex. litmus paper, phenolphthalein, methyl orange etc...

ph scale is an universal indicator. It states it nature(acidic/basic/neutral) and also shows its strength .It is helpful in showing the properties of the substances.

saka82411: Hope this helps...
saka82411: welcome friend

♦ An indicator is an observable and measurable specific quantity that can be used to show changes or progress made by a program in achieving a specific effect.

♦ At least one indicator should be used per effect. The indicator should be focused, clear and specific. The change measured by the indicator should represent the expected progress of the program.

♦ The indicator must be defined in precise and unambiguous terms clearly and accurately describing what is being measured. Where possible, it should give a relatively good idea of the necessary data and the population within which the measure is carried out.

♦ The indicators do not specify a particular level of achievement and therefore the terms "enhanced", "increased" or "reduced" have no place in their description.

♦ Example = Litmus Paper
