Dear diary,
Today, before the whole school, in the Investiture Ceremony, I was declared the school prefect! I was shaking with nervousness, my thoughts were in a mess, and I could barely standstill when the principal pinned the badge on my shirt. The cheering of the assembly, the broad smiles on my friend's faces were reminders that it was an occurrence, it was true and not just a dream.
You can imagine the happiness of mum and dad! I have satisfied their prospect, I have made not only mine, but their dreams come true! I pray with all my heart that I do not contradict the faith reposed in me and prove true to the task given to me. I have every meaning of being a good prefect. Pray for me.
