She completed her education form Maharishi dayanand University .She is INDIA'S first women who won gold medal in wrestling during commonwealth's game hosted in 2010 and also first INDIAN women wrestler who qualified in summer Olympics games .she is mainly related to Wrestling . Her coach is her's father ( Mahaveer Singh Phogat ) . Mostly she participate in 55 kg wrestling matches . Geeta was laterly married with Pawan Kumar . She is also rewarded by Arjun award in 2012 .
