Prohibition writ is issued by higher court against the lower court preventing them from exceeding their jurisdiction.

In Prohibition writ a superior court orders the lower court or parties to stop the litigation as the lower court does not have appropriate jurisdiction to hear or intervene in the matter before it.

There are five type of writs Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, Certiorari, Prohibition and Quo warranto.
