Explanation:
Cyclone Fani, one of the biggest storms in years to make landfall in India, slammed the city of Puri in Odisha with winds raging up to 200 kmph on Friday.
Though, in terms of maximum windspeed, Fani is only the seventh highest among cyclones to have originated from the Northern Indian Ocean since the 2000s, very rarely do such cyclones which were formed in the month of April over the Bay of Bengal go on to make landfall in India. This makes Fani a unique case of a cyclone that originated in April.

Cyclone Fani was a strongest tropical storm that had struck the Indian state of Odisha a few days back.
Fani is considered as the strongest storm that struck the state since Phailin of 2013. The severe storm aroused from the Bay of Bengal and struck the Indian state Odisha and Bangladesh in April 2019. The cyclone had left 89 people dead and properties destroyed.
Billions of properties were destroyed and made the state to suffer in deep economic crunch. However the state has pulled itself up from the crunch with the help of other Indian states.
