  1. Seoni hills are located in the Seoni city of Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
  2. Forest around this city is used as a setting for the Mowgli stories in the world famous books, The Jungle Book and The Second Jungle Book (1894-1895) written by Rudyard Kipling. He spelled it as seeonee.
  3. The Wainganga, "tributary of the river Godavari", originates here.
  4. Seoni city was founded in 1774, and it comprises of market place, large public gardens, and a tank dalsagar. 37% of its land area is covered in the forest.
  5. Pench Tiger Reserve: it is named after Pench river which flows in the region in "Seoni and Chhindwara districts". It has a undulating terrain that consists of small hills with steep slopes on the sides. it is situated in an area that has important place in the natural history of Central India. Its flora and fauna is described in many wildlife books of 17th century and books of naturalists Captain J. Forsyth and Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book.
  6. Tribal Camp Pench Tiger Reserve: It has been created to give the rich experience of living in and with nature. According to legends it is the birthplace of Mowgli.
  7. Bheemgarh Dam: It is the "biggest Mud / Earthen dam" of Asia surrounded by mountains from all sides. It is built on river Wainganga and also known as Sanjay Sarovar Bandh.
  8. Amodagarh: It is a tourist place located on Seoni-Mandla state highway. Remains of the "palace of Sona Rani" can be seen on this place.
  9. Matradham: It is a village 15 km west in the Seoni district of "Katalbodi" also known by name of  Matradham. It is the birthplace of Hindu guru Shankara Acharya. He has constructed a Shiv temple in 2003 to honor this place.
  10. Guru Rataneshwar Dham: It has World's Largest SphatikShivling, also constructed by "Hindu Guru Shankra Acharya" in Dighori village, which is lie on the north side of Seoni.
