Acids name gives us sensory image of Sourness.

It's Ph lies from 0 to 7.

They are the most common Chemicals and can be found anywhere in our food.

• H.Cl helps in the breakdown of all the potatoes and pizzas that we eat.

• H.Cl helps in the formation of many organic compounds like polyvinyl chloride and some pharmaceutical drugs.

• People use Acetic acid in cooking, this is what gives the salad a delicious taste and pickled vegetables and fruits, their - tart taste.

• Citric acids are used as an acidifier and flavouring agent of food.

• Citric acids are used in destaining the cloth.

• when it's too hot, everyone think to drink something refreshing like soda or coke. These are all carbonated drinks. These are made by adding carbon dioxide in water. It makes Carbinic acid, which cause a refreshing sensation.

• Sulphuric acids are found in car batteries.

• Sulphuric acids are also used in making fertilizers, cleaning products, and manufacturing of polymers.

• Iron and steel industries use sulphuric acids to remove oxide coatings.

• sulphuric acids are used in some solution to unclog the drain.

A Base that dissolves in Water is known as Alkali. Their Ph ranges from 7 -- 14. Basic substances react to aqueous solutions by accepting protons and giving away electrons, or releasing hydroxide ions. They tastes Bitter and are very slippery.

• Ammonia [NH3] is used as a Cleaning agent.

• Hydrated iron(III) oxides, [Fe2O3.nH2O] as rust.

• Potassium hydroxide[KOH] is used in Alkaline batteries.

• Sodium carbonate [ NaCO3] is used in making paper glass, detergent, toothpaste.

• Sodium bicarbonate[NaHCO3] is used in making baking soda, fire extinguisher, toothpaste.

• Calcium hypochlorite[Ca(ClO)2 is used in making Sanitizer, disinfectant.

• Calcium hydroxide (slaked lime)[Ca(OH)2] is used to neutralize the acidity in soil.

• Magnesium hydroxide(Milk of magnesia)[Mg(OH)2] is used as an antacid or laxative.

• Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic soda)[NaOH] is used in the manufacturing of soaps and detergents.
