Strikes, Bandhs, and Blockades don’t have any merits; they only have demerits. India is a country of strikes! Strikes are one of the main reasons behind India’s slow development. National goals such as overall development, strong economy, technological advancement, advancement in education, self-reliance in manufacturing, etc. cannot be achieved until the people of our nation stop going on strikes.
The Government owned departments, organizations, and units are more afflicted with the problem of strikes. Strikes happen because of the poor Government policies. There is no strictness, accountability, and sense of responsibility among the people working in the Government run departments. In the absence of strict rules and regulations Government employees take their jobs for granted; as a result the entire nation suffers. Some of the many demerits of Strikes, Banhs, and Blockades are given below:
1.The general flow of life is stopped. Vehicles, transportation system is halted.
2.People face inconvenience.
3.Supply of essential goods and services is affected.
4.Sick people or critically ill people can’t be moved from one place to another.
5.Production of essential goods is affected.
6.Public property is damaged.
7.Schools, colleges, and universities are shut down.
8.The poor people who earn their wages on daily basis don’t get work and wages.
The Government should make strict rules and regulations and strikes should be banned. Only, then our country can hope to become a developed and prosperous nation.
