EXPLANATION:-

The 18th group elements are

  • Helium
  • Neon
  • Argon
  • Krypton
  • Xenon
  • Radon

These 18th group elements are zero group elements, noble gases , inert gases Beacuse They have the stable electronic configuration. that means like metals and non metals they do not gain or lose electrons . So, they donot react with any element and form only few compounds(rare). and the other elements like Sodium, Magnesium, Chlorine etc ..They gain or lose electrons to attain the elctronic configuration of 18th group elements. So, they are called noble zero group elements or inert gases

The 18th group elements are follows :

  • helium (He),
  • neon (Ne),
  • argon (Ar),
  • krypton (Kr),
  • xenon (Xe),
  • radon (Rn),

Why 18group elements called noble zero group elements and inert gases.

The elements of group 0 have stable complete octate configuration. As a result, they do not react with other elements easily, i.e., they have inert behavior. Hence they are also called inert gases.
