Placenta is an intimate connection between chorine and uterine wall which provides food and oxygen to the foetus from mother's blood and remove CO2 and nitrogenous waste from it.

It is a disc like structure embedded in the uterine wall which attach embryo and mother.

✪FUNCTION ✪

⇒ The foetus gets nutrients (glucose and oxygen) from mothers blood to foetus.

⇒ The waste products like CO2 and uria are removed from foetus to mothers blood .

=> It provide large surface area for glucose and oxygen to pass into embryo under low pressure.
