The two policies of the government for agriculture are as follows :-

1.Agriculture subsidy Policy :- The government under this policy supplies various inputs like irrigation, fertilizers, and power to farmers at subsidized prices. In other words farmers get these these agricultural inputs at prices lower than the market price. The objective of Agriculture subsidy policy is to increase agricultural production and productivity by increasing the use of modern inputs in agriculture

2.Agriculture Price Policy :- To ensure fair returns to the farmers,the government started fixing the minimum support prices and procurement prices for a number of agriculture commodities like wheat, paddy etc.

Minimum support price are fixed so as to ensure that prices of agricultural commodities should not fall below these prices.
