Parenchyma cell walls are thin whereas the cell walls of sclerenchyma cells are highly lignified and hence thick. The cells contain cytoplasm whereas the sclerenchyma cells are empty. Parenchyma tissue acts as a packing tissue, provides support to plants and also stores food.
