Criminals need to be punished.
What is a crime? Crime is defined as an action which violates law and order and is considered as on offense. The person who commits a crime is known as a criminal. A criminal is an offender of the law and order that we made, to keep us safe and together.
A person who violates these rules has offended not only the victim, but the whole world by doing so. Why the whole world? Because laws are rules assigned to be followed by everyone on this planet, so we all are safe, and equal. Criminals deserve to be punished, or do they?
This debate has been going on about since the psychology of human minds transformed.
They deserve to be punished, why?
Criminals never hesitate to commit crimes, like robbery, assault, or even murder. Do they ever think about the after-effect when they commit a crime? Yes, they do, laws are known by everyone in this world. If they do not hesitate to commit crimes, why do we hesitate to punish them?
If they are confident in committing the crime, they should be ready to face the consequences and pay for it.
If the criminal isn't punished, he might not feel scared to commit another crime, which is bad, because the more crime there is, the more offense caused, and the more inequality there is.
If they are not stopped, they might encourage others to commit crimes, continuing the chain.
Criminals aren't born criminals, consequences cause them to be like that. The consequences could be them being the victim, and a crime being inflicted upon them.
They need to be punished, but according to the crime they committed.
The opposing team may have really strong points against you. They may be:
♦ Criminals should be taught, not punished.
--- Criminals are certainly aware of the laws they must be violating. They must have gone through a crime similar to it too, causing their rage and commitment. If yes, they have been through it, then they do know the pain and agony they are causing, why would they do it?
You should remember a point--
Sugar and spice look the same, but are different. You can't use salt in place of sugar for something. The same goes for us. Some people are good, some bad, they all look similar, but they are different. They are meant to be different, but at times, they can be put together, when there is a mutual understanding, which we lack most of the time.
This is a rough presentation, you can add in more of your points to make it more affective.
