Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad was the first education minister of Independent India. He played a major role in retaining the pace of the movement of education alive in India. He laid emphasis on learning Devangri and Hindi scripts to all the students of India, irrespective of being a Muslim. He was of the opinion that apart from industrial growth, educational growth of the people of India is a must to make India a progressing nation. He wanted to democratize education system and break the caste and class difference in education. He always opposed to the separate and sectarian nationalism.
