Warm current flows from the Equator to poles whereas cold currents originate in the polar region and flow towards the Equator. Warm currents move from the equator to the poles ex Gulf Stream, South Atlantic Current and Cold currents move from poles to the equator ex Labrador Current, West Australian Current
