The difference between gamete and Zygote


GAMETE

It is a germ cell that takes part in fertilization.
There are two types of gametes --- Male and Female.
A gamete has haploid or 1n Chromosome number.
A gamete carries characteristics of only one parent.
GAMETE is the last cell of its GENERATION.


ZYGOTE

It is a product of fertilization.
Zygote is of one type.
Zygote has diploid or 2n chromosome number.
It carries characteristics of both the parents.
It is the first cell of new generation.
