Homogeneous mixture:

  • In homogeneous mixture, components mixed are uniformly distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Homogeneous mixture are called solutions.
  • Homogeneous mixture can't be judged by seeing it.
  • Components of the homogeneous mixture can't be seperated easily.
  • Example :- Mixture of alcohol and water.

Heterogeneous mixture:

  • In heterogeneous mixture, components are completely mixed and the particles can be seen under microscope.
  • Heterogeneous mixture are distributed non uniformly.
  • Heterogeneous mixture can be judged by seeing it.
  • Components of the heterogeneous mixture can be seperated easily.
  • Example :- Mixture of NaCl and sand.
