Answer:

When the filaments are fused with each other is called adelphous .

Monadelphous stamens -

  • Filaments of all stamens are united forming a single bundle but the anthers are free.
  • This results in a flower with a large central column that bears many anther sacs.
  • The most notable example of monadelphous stamens is in the Malvaceae family also other families can have this feature on some occasions, like Fabaceae and Rosacea, and probably many others.
  • Example :- Cotton , Hollyhock , Hibiscus , etc .

Diadelphous Stamens -

  • It is the condition where stamens are fused together at least partly by the filaments and arranged into two separate bundles.
  • Besides the two groups, there is one lone stamen hanging out by itself.
  • The most notable examples are in Fabaceae or Leguminosae .
  • Example :- Pea ,  Chinese wisteria , Sesbenia bispinosa .
