Karna is the son of Lord Surya. He plays a major role in Mahabharata. His mother was unmarried when he was born and so she abandoned him in a basket at a river.

He was raised by foster parents Radha and Adhiratha Nandhana. He is an extraordinary warrior and a gifted speaker. Dronacharya rejected him to teach warfare because he was not a kshatriya.
