A radical is defined as an atom, ion, molecule consisting of a valence-level unpaired electron. Acidic radicals include; potassium ion, platinum ion, cadmium ion, cobalt ion,mercury ion,silver ion, calcium ion, tin (IV), Copper (II), ammonium ion, hydrogen ion, zinc ion, barium ion, magnesium ion,nickel manganese (II) ion, lead (II) ion, aluminum ion, iron (III) ion, manganese (IV) ion, chromium(III) ion and lead (IV) ion. On the other hand, basic oxides include; hydroxide ions, hydride ion, fluoride ion, chloride ion, bromide ion, iodide ion, bicarbonate ion, chlorate ion, hypochlorite ion, bisulphate ion, nitrite ion,nitrate ion, permanganate ions, carbonate ion, chromate ion, dichromate ion, manganate ion, sulphide ion, sulphate ion, oxide ion, zincate ion, thiosulphate ion, nitride ion, phosphate ion, ferricyanide ion, phosphide ion and ferrocyanide ion.
