Formula:- a+(n-1)d

first term is (a)= (- 3)

common difference is (d)= 4

5th term:

n=5

(-3)+(5-1)4

=(-3)+16

=13

6th term:

n=6

(-3)+(6-1)4

=(-3)+20

=17

7th term:

n=7

(-3)+(7-1)4

=(-3)+28

=25

Solution :-

Given : An A.P whose first term is - 3 and common difference is 4.

To find : 5th, 6th and 7th term.

Formula used :

t _n = a + (n - 1)d

Here

\bold{t_n \:  = General \: term }

a = First term

d = common difference

nth = position of term

For 5th term :

= - 3 + (5 - 1)4

= - 3 + 16

= 13

For 6th term :

= - 3 + (6 - 1)4

= - 3 + 20

= 17

For 7th term :

= - 3 + (7 - 1)4

= - 3 + 24

= 21

Answer : 5th, 6th and 7th terms of an A.P. are 13, 17 and 21 respectively.
