1. The  Pathshalas were held under the Banyan tree or at the corners of the villages meaning there was no proper infrastructure for classes to be held, whereas the modern classes are held in proper buildings and with proper comfort.

2. In the  Pathshalas, there was no proper sitting arrangement and books for students to study but in schooling, students are provided to sit on proper desks and have access not only to printed books but also to the E-books.

3. The fees in the Pathshalas varied according to the income of parents, on the other hand, the fees of schooling are fixed irrespective of the income of parents.
