Explanation:

After ten to fifteen years, Nepal which doesn’t have its own source for oil energy, there will be no fuel to run motors and cook food using LPG. So they must be replaced with electricals. To do so, my projection for electrical energy requirement of Nepal after five years is 20,000 megawatts. The feasible power generation from hydro in Nepal is 44,000 megawatts (not 83,000) with currently available technology.

Other good sources of energy like Uranium, solar, biomass, etc don’t look so good and economical or environment-friendly for Nepal in current or future situation.

Producing 20,000 megawatts from hydro is no joke because in more than a century, only about 1,000 megawatts of hydro electricity has been generated in Nepal. This would cost 10 to 20 Billion Dollars ( Nepal’s total budget for 73/74 is 10 Billion Dollars). So guess what? we need a lot of private and foreign investments. Remittance is also good but we need manpower in Nepal itself.

So , we need to put hands into big hydro projects like Karnali Chisapani ( 10,000 megawatts capacity) to ensure that we have learnt enough from the unofficial Indian blockade. Also, replacement of oil-run vehicles by electrical ones is a must.

And, uh, STOP dreaming about gas pipelines to every home. It's a terrible idea from terrible politicians with no useful knowledge.

Hope it works
