Western Cyclonic Disturbance are the temperate cyclone which originate over the Mediterranean Sea and Western Asia and move into India along with the westerly flow of jet streams. By causing cyclonic rains over the plains and snowfall in the mountains they distrub the quiet weather conditions of the North and North - west India also responsible for the rainfall in the months of winter in Northern India.
