My name is XX. I am a first year bachelor student in XX. Through this letter I would like to express my interest in the Honours Programme starting in September 2014.

I graduated High School after completing my economics & society profile. After graduating high school I decided to travel abroad. During my travels I manage d to visit various countries in Asia, USA and Europe. In the USA I enrolled in Cambridge Advanced Courses and in Spain I studied Spanish. Traveling took me out of my comfort zone and exposed me to new experiences. This helped me understand different countries, cultures and values. Learning from other cultures is somet hing I consider an important aspect of life. My tra vels also gave me the opportunity to improve my foreign language skills. As you can see I always like to do the best of my ability.

I have my heart set on accomplishing my goals and I am willing to run all the way. So far I have thoroughly enjoying my first year of XX. In this first year I have improved my academic (comunication) skills. Up until now I have passed al my courses with a grade average of 7.9. I feel the academic area of XX is interesting but I am keen on gaining a broader perspective. I therefore would like to acquire more knowledge and skills beyond the realm of XX.

The Honours Programme would provide me with the opportunity to further develop my competencies, to improve my presentation skills, to write, talk and think in English, to represent myself correctly, to expand my knowledge and to meet interesting p unique intellectual environment. I am a thoughtful, committed and hardw orking person with an array of experiences in the world. This is why I think I am a good candidate for the H onours Programme.
