If you’re an individual wanting to attempt an existing record title, our Standard Application service is offered without charge. If you want to attempt a new record title, something that you cannot find in our database, a non-refundable administration fee of £5/$5 (plus VAT) applies. To apply, you'll need to register for an account with us, or if you have previously registered, you can use your existing login details. Apply Now. You don't have to be an Olympic athlete or rocket scientist to become a record-holder! Record-breaking is open to absolutely everyone, no matter where you're from, what language you speak, or how old you are, and we treat all applications with the same degree of professionalism and integrity.

The Guinness World Records database is bursting with 40,000 current records so there really is something for everyone.

We'd love to hear about your special skill, peculiar pet or tremendous talent when you send us your application. After we receive your details, our team of Record Managers will consider your application. Please bear with us during this time, as due to the volume of applications we receive, it can take us up to 12 weeks* to get back to you. For more information on what makes a record, check-out our FAQs.

If your suggestion for a new title is accepted, or if you’re applied for an existing title, you will receive your official record guidelines and all the information you need on how to attempt the record title. And if your attempt is successful, your achievement could be published on our website, in our next Guinness World Records book or even featured on one of our global TV shows!

*Please note - Our usual wait times are sometimes extended when we have larger than normal volumes of applications.

Please refer to our Current application waiting times page for the most up-to-date information.
