I am a small pond. Sometimes ago, I used to be very beautiful. I was very happy. I was proud of myself.
But first, I want to tell a little bit for those who don't know what is a pond. Basically, I am a body of standing water. I can be natural. I can also be artificial. I am smaller than a lake usually. I have plant and animal life inside me.
The plant and animal life inside me depends on the following factors.
My depth
nutrients levels
presence or absence of shading trees
presence or absence of streams
effects of grazing animals
Now I am sure that you all have become familiar with what am I? So I am coming back to my story. I am a small and clean pond. I was a result of a low-level flood. It was a less populated area. People were happy to have me. They used to come to me daily. Children used to play beside me. Women used to wash clothes with my water. The people used to enjoy a lot. They also took great care of me. They used to keep me clean. But after some time, more people came to settle there. The population of the area increased day by day. More people started to come to my side for recreation. But they forgot to keep me clean. I was getting dirtier day by day. Now people have started to throw rubbish in me. The small fish inside me started to die. Now my water has become very dirty. I am dying. I have a request for all of you. Please keep us neat and clean to preserve your environment.
