1) Galvanizing_in this method a layer of zinc is coated on the metal..hence rusting on zinc occurs first and then on the metal.

2)Electroplating_in this method the metal to be electroplated is used as a cathode or anode in an aqueous solution and electrolysis is done.....which causes covering of cations at cathode and anions at anode.
