Helen Adams Keller, known as Helen Keller, was born on June 27, 1880, in, Alabama. In 1882, she became ill and her illness left her blind and deaf.

Beginning in 1887, Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan, struggled to help her make tremendous progress with her ability to communicate, and Keller even went on to college and became graduate in 1904.

In 1920, Keller received many honors in recognition of her accomplishments.
