Answer:
On a recent trip to Australia, I came across a peculiar species of birds known as the Tawny Frogmouths, which belong to the same genus as owls, but are definitely bigger and scarier.
They blend in with the branches of trees, where they stay perfectly still, and when a lizard or insect comes near them, they swallow them whole much like a Venus Flytrap.
The snap sound that their beaks make, when clamped shut, is what garnered my attention.
Upon closer inspection, I came across an ashen, owl like bird, which was camouflaging itself quite well with tree on which it was perched.
A natural predator, Tawny Frogmouth is deceptive, which makes it quite scary and a force to be reckoned with.
