My mom tells me stories from Panchatantra every night before I sleep.
It is a good book for learning about friends and habits. This book tells about three prince who doesn't like to learn anything. But a Guru named Vishnu Sharma makes them very intelligent by telling small stories about animals.
There is one story in another and so on...These stories tell about 5 principles
1. Suhrulabham - How can friends help us in trouble?
2. Suhrubhedam - How friends can be bad for us, if we don't make good friends?
3. Kakolukeyam - What happens when some one creates enmity between two strangers?
4. Labdhapranasam - How can one benefit even from a useless thing?
5. Apareeshitakaratwam - What happens if you do something in hast?
Now I learnt about Suhrulabham and learning about Suhurbhedam.
In Suhrulabham, I liked the story about four good friends.
A crow, tortoise, rat and deer are good friends. One day, a hunter caught the deer. The crow saw the deer in the trap. He call his friends. The rat bites the net and frees the deer. But the tortoise came in between and the hunter caught the tortoise. The three friends make a plan. And the deer lies down and acts like dead near a lake. The crow acts like eating deer's eye. The hunter saw the deer and he leaves the tortoise. The rat slowly bites the net and the tortoise runs into the water. The rat goes into the hole and the crow gives signal to deer and flys away. The deer gets up immediately and runs away very fast. And the hunter thinks he lost everything.
